Robinson's critical thinking skill and depth of knowledge are undeniable, but this book feels too sprawling. Still, I believe I'll read it to the end...

More than anything, St Thomas Aquinas seemed to have been a man of great character: courteous, unassuming, and of course, saintly in the truest sense.

This is the type of book that you'd want to run out and purchase it after reading the first 10 pages. (Currently, I'm reading the library book, but will purchase it later, probably Chesterton's Collected Works.

"During the march the ardor which the youth had acquired when out of view of the field rapidly faded to nothing. His curiosity was quite easily satisfied. If an intense scene had caught him with its wind swing as he came to the top of the bank, he might have gone roaring on. This advanced upon Nature was too calm. He had opportunity to reflect. He had time in which to wonder about himself...

I already know I’ll give 5 star rating for this novel…. Writing so good. Such tragic sadness…
