This book was… honestly, it was terrible. Follet’s books are normally formulaic. Poor boy/rich or noble girl fall in love but can’t get together. Villain who justifies their actions through religion, feudalism, or traditionalism. Gooddoer who is too smart for their own good and goes through their own trials, but have their happy ending.
This book had those moments, but I could not care less for the characters.

Even more generic than the other sequels if that’s possible

The twist was less than underwhelming. -_-

I finally finished this awful book.

Honestly, I want to stop reading it because all the characters are terrible people, but based on the reviews there’s supposed to be a “big” twist. I’m still waiting for it…
