2 hours in and 14+ hours to go. Thinking this may be a little too scientific and dry (to me) to stick with this.

I’m not loving this. Narrator isn’t my favorite. I might try again, but reading instead of listening.

I like this narrator, but having a hard time staying engaged. So far not a fan of the 75 different stories… especially the old ones.

I have 6 hours left, but I'm going to set this aside for a while. It's just so long in this world.

45 hours is a loooong time to listen to a book. Just a little over 8 hours to go.

Janet Ruyle is on page 27 of 448 of Parable of the Talents (Earthseed, #2)
Written in 1998 (Butler died in 2006) - "current least favorite presidential candidate... Andrew Steele Jarret... insists on being a throwback to some earlier, 'simpler' time... Jarrett condemns the burnings, but does so in such mild language that his people are free to hear what they want to hear... 'Help us to make America great again'." WTF? 27 pages in but I get the feeling Jarret is going to be the bad guy.

Book rut… so listening to a favorite series with by a favorite narrator. (I mean, you can’t go wrong with Terrible!) Already 2 of the 5 finished. Think I’ll just count the entire series as one long great read (listen).

Ugh. Not sure I'm going to continue with this. Picked it up because it's a finalist for a 2021 Audie Award for nonfiction. Narration is good but the writing... not so much. Too much repetitive awfulness. I get it, Shelly is a horror. This needs an editor. Needs more research. I mean it's a BIG WTAF??? Tell my why people gravitate to and stay with Shelly - NOTHING here makes that understandable. She's pretty?

Janet Ruyle is finished with The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires
I’m not sure I can keep going with this. It’s supposed to be set in the late 80s-early 90s... but it feels more like the 1940s-50s. Seriously this author’s portrayal of women and POC is degrading... stereotypes at their worst.

I have 2:40 hours left in the audiobook and I hate it. I can't decide if I should just suck it up and finish since I've already invested almost 6 hours and then I can count it for this year.

Not sure I can listen to another 5 hours of this... can’t decide if I should dnf this while waiting for my Scribd account to reset and open up an audiobook I might want to listen to. Just looked at a few “didn’t love” this reviews and seems what I’m not liking is going to get better. Sigh.

This one is dull as dirt. Find myself not really paying attention to most of it... just trying to get to the end. Hope the next book is better.
