Got about halfway through to the point where what was happening was explained and set it aside. I'll probably never finish it.

I started with the audiobook but had to buy the kindle because I feel like my inability to get a good grasp on the narrator's accent has me missing important information. I was sad, because the narrator's voice was melodic and what I did catch, I loved. So maybe I'll do a physical read and then listen.

This started strong and now it's developing into I don't know what. Fantasy.

I'm about a third of the way through. Such an interesting book, especially for someone who grew up in the rural Midwest. McVeigh was an early warning shot all right. Toobin reminds us that much of what we're seeing today is decades old. I had forgotten about Rush Limbaugh, but we see the impact of his rhetoric in the Oklahoma City bombing as we see the current rhetoric behind the Big Lie that pushed J6.

I just want this story to wrap up. Honestly, have they never heard of ISP's? This thing drags.

I love the characters Strike and Robin. In Ink, Rowling dives headlong into the world of cancel culture and internet trolls. Already this story has branched into a plethora of characters and agendas that is more annoying than intriguing. I'll finish it, but this is almost two stories told in tandem, one of which I didn't want to read.

I haven't touched this book in almost a year. I don't even care how it ends. After having the rug pulled out from under us in book four, I find myself incredibly uncurious about this story. This one may end up in my not finished pile

I read book one a couple years ago. Picked up book two and just absorbed two, three, and four. Four turned everything on its head and that has left me struggling with book five. I've been trying to get into this one for over two months and I'm just nibbling at it before setting it back down. I will finish it, but it may not be this year the way things are going.

Okay, I get wanting to start the book off with everyone's plans ruined, but the trouble dealt out to the newlyweds is just dumb. Head shaking, eye rolling, dumb.

Dazen's emerging truth makes up for it, though. Just when I think I have something figured out, rug pulled.

These books! Again, I want it all to be over with, to know what happened, and yet I drag my feet because watching what happens is like having a molar excised.

Best series I've read in a long time.

Weeks is taking, 'torture your characters' so far he's torturing this reader. I want to know what happens, but I like them and hate watching them struggle.

This has been setting in my TBR pile for some time and I just kept passing over it when looking for my next read. Now that I've picked it up, I wish it had been my first read. More historical romance than fantasy, I'm loving the relationship developing between the main characters. The world build is familiar with a dab of the new in regards to the Kai species.

This book is a collection of Poirot short stories. I think the fun of reading these after watching the television programs made from them, is seeing all the differences, all the added filler, that make the program longer.

And Christie's characters need to stop ejaculating things. I'm dying here.

Anyone else listening to the audio version? My chapters are out of order. I'm certain of that in one place at least because Peter Grant talks to the American Library guy about the demon trap before the chapter where he actually steps on it.

And does the book really begin with his interview at the undercover job? I thought he'd quit the Folly because of the babies.

There's no flow to this one at all.

I typically don't read espionage-type books because they tend to be dry when it comes to character. There's plenty of action in this. It's first person and immediate with all kinds of mental imagery and the occasional emotional moment. The writing is lean and steady. There was a moment when I thought I knew what was going to happen and didn't care for it, but I was wrong. Yeah!

This book is LONG! And I'm listening, not reading, this time around. 50 plus hours. It would help if I thought there might be a happy ending. I first read this book back in '93 and recall that there isn't. I'm dreading the ending, because I want an HEA for Rowan and Michael and am sure I won't get one. Will I finish it this year? Not so sure.

I read this for the first time back in 1993. Listening now in audio format, it's amazing how much I don't remember. This is in depth character writing we don't see a lot of today and I have to admit to being a little put off by the slow pace. I will finish it. All 50 hours of it, lol. I've never picked up an audiobook that was much over 30. The narration is wonderful.

The genre is paranormal, but the writing style, slow and easy with all the right details, just holds your attention. The first book is Graveyard Queen. Loved it and loving this one too.

So there's this part in the middle you have to back up and read a couple times because how the heck he did that boggles the mind. Hang in there, explanations await. I just wish they didn't take so long - and that's not for that one issue alone. Still, amazing story.

Still early days, but I really like this character. So far Cormoran has taken a missing person case for a man who might not be missing for a person who might not be paying him. Still not liking the dips into the secretary's head.
