so...botanical horror is a genre? like for real? I mean, this is it if ever there was an example. T. Kingfisher is infamous for making nature creepy as hell.

Reading these books is 80% enlightening and 20% frightening. Like...ohhh that's what's wrong with me. then the next section is like...but there's no cure. FML

okay...so...hear me out....Wednesday Addams mixed with Enola Holmes. Except not as good a detective..at all! LOL. And not for nothing but it seems like most of her "discoveries" are clearly right place right time kinda thing. Nothing clever about it, really.

This MC has strong Wednesday Addams vibes.

Usually DNF if I can't be bothered by page 100 but...I'm intrigued. It's reminding me a lot of 'The Book of Accidents' but...I'll give it 48 more pages and see how we go.

Is it possible to not give a damn about one single character by page 46? It can't be the reading slump that's got me hating 3 books in a row. I'm just picking poorly at this point.

This is giving 'Woman in Cabin 10' and we all know how badly that MC erked my nerves. There's no way you're on lvl 10 paranoid on day 1. Have a day off!

The way these verbally abusive flashbacks are triggering. Could have used a trigger warning Dotson. 😓

This reading slump is killing, It's not a bad book but I'm really having a hard time getting into it.
