This is hard to read. These poor people

This is so unique and the writing is creative and hilarious.

Listening to the audiobook and it is draaaaaaaging. I’m just not invested in this at all. Finishing because I made it this far, but I feel like I’m reading a different book than everyone else is talking about on here.

Go ahead and pick this book up if you want to find yourself inexplicably a little in love with Draco Malfoy. Tom Felton seems incredibly sweet and down to earth!

Fredrik Backman could write product descriptions for a toilet parts catalog and I would pay $$$ to read it.

Only 2 chapters in and already so invested in this story. Backman has such a beautiful, clever way with words!

I don’t like a single character in this book and I still can’t wait to see how this shakes out

This is a total pander to fans but I’m not mad about it at all.

Why did I wait so long on this one? It’s so good! I’ve had it on my Kindle forever and splurged and got the audible version as well so I can listen while I work around the house.

The “muffled” effect made listening to parts of this nearly impossible for me. I understand the reasoning behind it, but surely there’s a different way to achieve that effect without making the dialogue so mumbly/unintelligible? Still not keen on all performers not having the same pronunciation of characters and places. But overall, this was fun.

Her daughter is the same age as my daughter was when we had to tell her I had cancer. The Scrabble chapter was gut-wrenchingly familiar and so well-conveyed

This book is so utterly ridiculous with such unlikeable and bland characters that I really don’t know why I’ve continued to read. But I’m this close to finishing so might as well?

At this point I’m still reading because I’m so annoyed by the characters, the setting, the writing. All of it. I’m giving in 3 more chapters.

Has this author ever actually BEEN to Milwaukee or did she just google a list of popular places to namedrop? (A bridge too far-the MC lamenting not spending more time swimming at Milwaukee’s Lakefront…what??)

I’m 2 chapters in and this reads like the ramblings of my excited teenaged daughter trying to tell a story but including every single thought that pops into her brain. And not in an endearing way.

This book is seriously ridiculous. I don’t understand the hype at all.

Am I missing something? Why is this rated over 4 stars? I don’t get it at all

Preface with I LOVE Jimenez’s Part of Your World Series…I would like to retitle this “Dig Your Heels in and Don’t Communicate Honestly No Matter What” with the subtitle “Whoops! Fooled You! This is not a Romantic Comedy!” And the female narrator is not great on the audio version. This has been a slog.

There are so many POVs in this book. I’m not sure how I feel about that.

This is the first book in a long time that I don’t want to read too fast because then it will be over. The writing is beautiful and has made me feel everything from complete despair to tentative hope to pride. And not only is the writing gorgeous, the characters are interesting, and I can already tell I’ll miss Phoebe when this is over.

I have pretty strong feelings about authors narrating their own audiobooks. This is a prime example of why it’s not a great idea. I have a feeling I would be enjoying this book if I switched to kindle, but I already spent money on this format. Instead, I’m extremely annoyed and ready to quit the book.

This author is great at playing on my assumptions as a reader.

Every time I think I’ve got a handle on where this is going it takes a sharp right turn, in a good and interesting way!

I dislike this main character so strongly that I don’t really want to keep reading. Make some more stupid, nonsensical choices, why don’t you??

OMG!! “Forbidden puppies”! I am DYING, CRYING laughing.

I’m having the hardest time getting into this. But I love the author’s other books so I’ll give it more time.
