I will dnf this for now and maybe return to it later (to tear it apart). My reasons thus far: Pinker does not adhere to the principles that are purportedly behind this book. He exhibits hypocrisy, (very) poor scholarship such as cherry picking and subjectively interpreting studies and quotes, and emotional language. Also lots of overlap with Factless which I did like.

Dnf, because of the narrator. His voice is annoying. Hope to read it as a physical copy in the not too distant future.

This book has slipped from my mind, but I still very much want to read it. Will restart it at a later date.

Will dnf for now, perhaps permanently. It's too dry and technical (and this coming from an academic researcher!); it is a captain's log. For the life of me I can't be bothered with how many kilometers were travelled, how many fathoms were sounded, how many dogs perished, how many rations are left. But there are numerous short gems describing the weather and the landscape, but too far and between to keep me engaged.

This book is searing itself into my brain in the best way possible.
