CFS/ME is a specific diagnosis with a unique set of symptoms, the utterly crucial one being POST-EXERTIONAL MALAISE. It is not simply being very tired. If you do not experience PEM, you do not have CFS/ME. Doctors like to use my condition as a catch-all for fatigue, but that sows confusion among patients, medical professionals, and the general public. It mischaracterizes a disease that makes people bedridden as mild.

I am rather bored, which is terrible because I've read every other book by this author and loved all of them. This one is really meh to me so far, to the point I'm not sure I'll finish. :/

This is the story of a small group of men whose extreme wealth and success in tech has made them lose touch with other human beings and reality.

So far this feels a little mean-spirited. The main character is such a terrible person that it feels like an insult to influencers and trad wives. I am neither, and I have a problem with the subset of trad wives who want all women to become like them. I also have a problem with kids being used by influencers, which is happening in the book. But I'm sure nearly all have some redeeming qualities.

I'm really struggling to get through books for some reason. This book is depressing, but in a few days the next Murderbot book comes out, and I look forward to that.

I'm somewhat overwhelmed by many names without much data to attached to them. These people may have been from here, or from here, or perhaps over there!

This starts with the most insane story ever about a shark attack and criminally negligent parents who nearly killed their child. They ignored her desperate pleas for aid all night while she vomited blood. She didn't say that, but my God, that's what this was. She literally nearly dies, and it doesn't seem like either of her parents grasp their roles in this. Of course this involved a criminally negligent doctor, too!

This book is geared toward family members and loved ones of autistic people. I highly recommend it to anyone in this situation! As an autistic person, I think it does a great job. I support the approaches in this book, the care taken to respect autistic people and not focus on behavior modification, which is stressful and confusing. Next time I really want to read a book by autistic people for autistic people.

Everyone in this is so stupid that I cannot deal. How have these people gotten to their thirties and forties with what seems like negative emotional intelligence? Disappointed in the book so far.

My father and grandfather were both high-degree masons. I hope this book isn't a long indulgence of all the conspiracy theories. Trust me, the closer you are to it, the less exciting it is. My dad participating in dark rituals is the dumbest conspiracy I've ever heard. He had his flaws, but to his credit, he'd have risked his life to expose anything close to murder, let alone murder itself. It's ridiculous.

I know it must look like I love JK Rowling from my reading this year. And yes, I really love Harry Potter and the Strike novels. But man, she herself is terrible. She's not even a casual transphobe--it's her whole persona at this point, which makes it extra disturbing. But man, I've been waiting for this book for months and idk how to reconcile these two things. :(

I read this when I first got sick, and it was helpful to me then. I think it's time to read the second edition. I could really use the help right now.

I'm really enjoying this so far. The techies are supposed to make you roll your eyes a little, right? I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be impressed because Google customizes everybody's lunch, but it's such an eye-roll moment for me. The love interest is very endearing if her ramblings about the Singularity are supposed to be a bit amusing. And I need the whole ~*living forever*~ stuff to be a wink-nod to the reader.

I know there is a murderer out there killing champions, but I appreciate that the contest isn't insanely bloodthirsty itself. Sure, you can die, but more likely, you go home. That's sane!

So far all the main characters (the one's whose perspective we get) are ALL men. And the main female character is Not Like Other Girls. I'm also getting kind of bored because so far everything is pretty generic and nothing exciting has happened. I'm sticking with it for torturer man, who is a great character. Horrible, but great.

😂 This book is so bad yet so good. As someone with Ehlers Danlos, I am biased toward enjoying this, I guess. The plot is so predictable. The characters are so predictable. But lol, I am enjoying it.

The libertarians were as expected, but I've learned so much about bears.
