Aside from the confusion over the current state of Asgard, the first issue was a neat combination of Norse lore and straight-up fantasy with a dash of concern over losing cultural identity.

Not a bad first outing. The first issue does a good job of setting the stage and bringing new readers up to speed. I truly hope this doesn't meander down Conspiracy Road—SHIELD is better than that.

The interplay between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark in issue #1 is great, but I was left a bit flat by the threat. I presume these villains have appeared before, but I had no idea who they were and their motivations seemed to be pretty flat. I'll let the story unfold and see how things progress.
