I love the back and forth teasing about being a princess and her knight.

I like the aside about the chiyogami. Now I'd really like one.

I love some of the images of Noriko on page 118, most notably the "No teasing" panel and the one right below it.

Still excellent. There's some inaccuracies, but it's actually somewhat realistic, especially compared to most science fiction, even hard sci-fi.

Just finished chapter 12. I didn't think there would be this particular kind of drama. I'm making better progress in the book now.

I'm curious to see how Anne deals with what she overheard Captain Wentworth saying when she was behind the bank and they were behind the hedgerow. Based upon the fact he noticed she was tired, he's still paying attention to her.

I've found my first major problem with this book. He states, "We get ourselves into trouble because it's a cheap way to get attention." Fine, I can kind of agree with that. But, to start the following paragraph he states, "Ill health is a form of trouble..." So, if we are sick, we're doing it to get attention? While it may be true for some people, others can't help it. As a result, I have a serious problem with it.

I love the idea that someone would name their punk band this.

I've been meaning to read this for some time. Despite the title, this seems to be broadly applicable.

I'm about 1.5 hours in. I've just started a section written by Alma. While I like her section so far, I loved Leo's. I hope she can keep the quality as high as it has been.

This book is kind of racist. That said, since it was written during WWII, portraying Asians as the enemy is understandable. It's just the stereotypes that are really bad. But, I've read popular novels with similar stereotypes.

Wow, he made life back on Earth really bleak. So, not only is the war horrific, but you can even look forward to going back to Earth.

I got the approval on my thesis edits today and I've submitted the final version for the university approval (they only check to see that it matches their style guidelines). So, I'm now officially done with my PhD thesis!

'unleashed Stargate's eighteen sex-starved men on our women, compliant and promiscuous by military custom (and law)' Seriously Joe Haldeman? You've made it by law in your universe? Ugh.

It looks like I'm finally done with Christopher Tolkien's introductory notes and I'm about to read J.R.R. Tolkien's own notes on the individual poems (although Christopher Tolkien may have more notes after that, I haven't checked).

Well, that's a particularly gruesome death and we haven't even got to the war yet. But since the author wrote this after he was in the Vietnam war, I'm not surprised he's trying to show the horrors, but it seems a bit early.
