“No apology necessary,” Tom replied. “As this is a wedding, I expected some drama and weeping. I just didn’t think it would all be coming from the bridegroom.”

“There’s no need to worry. You’ll either meet someone new, or you’ll reconsider someone you didn’t appreciate at first. Some men are an acquired taste. Like oysters, or Gorgonzola cheese.”
She let out a shuddering sigh. “Cousin West, if I haven’t married by the time I’m twenty-five … and you’re still a bachelor … would you be my oyster?”

Trying to upgrade my Swedish by reading the English and Swedish versions at the same time. (First read was years ago, in Romanian)

Why, oh why, does it have to be insta love? The MCs lived under the same roof for two months! But they have to discover each other and fall in love and think about sex and marriage in a single day! Because... reason!

Past the half of the book and it's only been like 22 hours of the characters' life... idle chat and nothing more. WTF?

“You seem to know quite a bit, Galladon,” Raoden noted. “And since when has that been a sin?” Galladon said with a huff. “You’ve lived in Kae all your life, sule. Maybe instead of asking why I know these things, you should wonder why you don’t.”

My point exactly! Why is Raoden so ignorant of the recent past of the country in which he lives in and of which he is crown prince?

Raoden is frustrating! He is the prince, the heir, of a country that revolves around Elantris. He was there as a child, he is required as a future ruler to know at least the recent history and everybody around him would have remembered again and again everything about the gods that lived among them until several years before. Then WHY does he need to ask a foreigner things about Elantris every step of the way???
