Kinda meh so far, plot feels ham-handed and silly. People are over powered... Except when they're conveniently not.

I like Rowe's books, I wish he would finish a series before he starts an unrelated series. This one is not his best, lots of nerding out about his magical imaginings and very light on interesting plot. Maybe a slow start for a good series?

I'm about halfway through, I think this series should have ended a few books ago. Getting repetitive and weird rather than well structured. The characters remain well developed... But the world isn't enjoyable anymore

Definitely more of a thriller than any kind of mystery novel. It was pretty clear near the start which way it was going. Decent so far.

There are numerous progression fantasy tropes here, that's basically why anyone would listen though. Not destined to be a classic but I find it enjoyable enough so far.

Progressing very slowly, the other books by this author did too.

Author is squandering a good premise by drawing out the main background story to write as many books as possible it seems. The attempt at buddy comedy was good at the start but the premise is starting to wear thin. I hope he gets to the point soon before it wears out entirely for me. The world building was great for a bunch of books... Needs to use that world to do something interesting

Thus far not my favorite book in the series.... I don't really like the characters talking to the audience. They seem to do more than usual in this book.

Easily the best of the series so far. There is still the creepy aspect with a romance involving a 14 year old. This series has a problem with that, it would be much better without that aspect.

Generally like it but the whiny woe-is me.... Oh well I'll kill everyone anyway act is a bit predictable. The other characters arcs are interesting

Good like all of follett's books are. A little overly focused on sex, but I enjoy the character development and history.

Really enjoying this series. This last book was the most intense and dark. Starts slow, but climbs and climaxes nicely... A few times

So far it feels like Martin's attempt at a silmarilion. I don't say that as a complement. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt

Hmm. Like King rehashed IT and mixed in some Mr Mercedes "hard boiled" style crime investigation. Thankfully I liked both of those books.

I like It when king uses characters from other stories. Helps a lot with character and plot development

I've read a lot of king's work, but there was some early part of this one that made me say "that's a bit much, king"

That being said, the plot seems good

so far it seems like a strange combination of Star Wars, Ender's Game, and a pulp romance novel.

Like the other books it's a bit predictable. Same banter, get in a jam, AI says their screwed....captain does something off the wall and they get out of it. It's almost like a literary sci-fi sitcom. I'm fine with that.

My husband different style than the previous books. Like it.
