The descriptions and voice in this are amazing, but it's very slow-paced. I think I need to read something light and fluffy!

This reminds me of one of my favourite films, The Illusionist, and The Prestige. Happy! It's a great introduction to a story.

I LOVE the title of this book now that I know what it actually means! I always liked it for its poeticness, but now it's just awesome. I like that Gabry's so flawed as well.

Plunging into another zombie book - I'm not a fan of the shambling dead, but I'd like to finish the trilogy. Yes, I had no idea the Forest of Hands and Teeth was a zombie book when I bought it.

You guys, this is actually really good! I think I have a thing for heroines we're not supposed to like. Natalie is all kinds of bitch awesome. It's like Jawbreaker meets Mean Girls. I love me a Mean Girl.

One of my reviews with a gif has SO MANY VIEWS that it keeps knocking out my photobucket account. It'll be down for three weeks this time! Should I take the gif out? This happens quite frequently.

Got legitimately scared during a particularly well-written freaky bit. This is really good so far.

OK so yeah, another civilian learns your secret and you think they're just gonna keep their mouth shut because they have nothing better to do? You may as well announce it to the whole freaking school at this point. And another thing: why has the quality of writing dropped so damn much in this book? It's making it a real chore to read. It's choppy and jerky and dialogue isn't introduced properly. And I hate Cat.

I'm still waiting for something to actually happen, or more specifically, for Cat to have some action... yawn. I'm continuing because there's a promise of action soon.

This just isn't doing it for me. Tessa is incompatible, though I give Gordon kudos for including a character like Delphi. Everyone's standing around saying, "Oh no, they've taken Rhiannah!" and looking at each other pathetically instead of actually doing anything about it. I'm actually a little bored.

I don't want to jump on the bandwagon, but this is rather special by virtue of its uniqueness alone. Add in beautiful plot, characterisation, worldbuilding and description that doesn't send me to sleep with overblown unnecessary detail (though detail is there, for it is extraordinarily different to anything else I've read), and I am sure I am going to enjoy this.
