Nope.

I really tried to like this, but I don't think I got a half hour in before I decided to give up and not force it. . The narrator was too monotone. The story felt way too YA (or even younger?). MAYBE it was going to get better, but after skimming reviews, and seeing too many that agreed with my feelings on the book, I decided to just return it and move on.

I'll guess I was maybe 15-20% of the way through? Really not a fan of compiled short stories, but I'm not scoring it on that. Just really couldn't get into it - didn't care about most of the characters - there wasn't a lot given to care about. Not much real information given (and not just the "because it's a mysterious topic" factor).

Just...blah. Gave up. Moved on.

Wrapped up shortly before the book was finished. It was getting deeper/more distracted into topics I didn't care as much about.

But within the first 15 minutes of starting to listen to this book while I was out doing yard work, it had me sort of freaking out. There was a selftest where, if you answer "yes" to more than a certain number of questions on the test, you'd be considered an HSP. Yup, I was well over!

Finished first book last week. Decided to jump over to something else, and then come back to second book later. So far it's mostly a fairly generic zombie book.... :-\

Good. Not GREAT, but good. I felt like maybe I came in on the second book of a series - like it was missing details about the world that would've been set out in the first book in the series.

The Big Bad kinda turned into a fizzle for me - a big disappointing there.

The world definitely seems interesting though, and I'm curious about the other characters. Just not sure yet if I'll come back.

Twenty minutes in and I'm already super intrigued. And I had NO IDEA this book was from the early 1970s!!

I'm not sure I'll continue with this book - I've already moved on to something else I like better.

I tried this starting on a drive home from work...so maybe 20 minutes worth. I could NOT get into it. I like the narrator's voice, but I had a hard time telling many of the major characters apart if he wasn't explicitly mentioning their name. It really jumped FAST into the meat of the story - like too fast, odd details that bothered me, etc. Maybe it would've worked better in a visual/comic format, or maybe not.

Well - the overall reviews for this book might be great, but after a couple hours I had to return it to Audible. Just could not get into it. I had to really force myself to start it back up again. It felt silly how the lead guy sees a hot girl and assumes he's going to have to get with her. Just seemed juvenile? There was more I didn't care for... Unfortunate - I love RC Bray.

For some reason, the flow seems a little harder to follow compared to previous books.
