The creation stories are perhaps the ones that are most interesting to me!

The dialogue is so cringey at times that it stand out like a sore thumb from the rest of the tale (which has some substance). I am also tired of monologues and thoughts. Unfortunately a lot of the read so far is introspection.

I am really tired of padding in books. Mr. Sanderson seems to favour it in his series, but it really takes much of the enjoyment out of reading.

Day 16 of being reminded that Vin CAN pierce Copperclouds. Argh.

Finally! Some theorising over the Deepness and some unravelling. Ok, I am starting to pick up interest again!!

I liked the scene with OreSeur and Vin.

This feels more like a starter level fantasy to me - not terrible but not terribly good either.

We have some new characters like Zane who are interesting, but I am waiting for some action to kick off and some unraveling to happen. We are still in building phase and I guess I will have to wait till about halfway through?

Not much has happened and I am struggling a bit to pick this back up.

I am deeply interested, but like Vin, maybe not totally invested yet! Looking to see where the tale will take me next.

This is so breathtakingly atmospheric and reminiscent of Victorian England.

Why does Moira talk of Moira in the third person? Are their two people? Or did she tell herself to run?

Who did the editing on this? Siobhan is Moira or not? Have we met the real Moira yet? Or do people here moonlight as others here now.

It gets somewhat obnoxiously preachy and repetitive sometimes. I still am curious about the entity.

Just through with prologue and chapter 1.
Prologue which felt campy and OTT and a rehash of every episode of ‘those meddling kids’ in horror tales. Chapter 1 was better and seemed to be an interesting setup.

Loving it so far. The atmosphere can be cut with a knife.

Interesting first few pages. Going in to this without knowing much about the book and excited to see where this leads to…

The themes seem to be of wrongness battery and misplaced hatred.
I like Violets PoV most of all three.
The slow uncovering of what transpired is interesting although I have a pet peeve at chapters trying to end at cliffhangers.

This had way better pacing than The Bear and The Nightingale (which took me nearly two weeks).

Here we follow Vasya, but we are out of the homestead now, and in prying eyes. The world is stifling and dangerous and Vasya and Solovy are the only ones who are trying to live their own lives on their own terms unapologetically!

This has a better pace than book 1 and parts that are truly emotional. We follow Vasya reunited with her siblings and trying to make her own way through life on her own terms.
As usual, Solovy is amazing and I love him!

The tone the boom has taken is crazy! I am still waiting to encounter the beastie on the cover!
