I liked the premise and the beginning hooked me, but lost me somewhere about halfway. The book felt dragged out and the chapters wondered too much for me to keep track. The chapters are also different POVs, but not labeled which was confusing at first.

I really wanted to like this book, but it is so slow and so so boring. I liked the historical elements, but it wasn't enough to keep me engaged. The chapters are repetitive and unnecessarily short and jump back and forth between timelines enough to give me whiplash.
