Hot take: this is an incredible book

I need flashcards to memorize/learn all the important characters in this story.

(I’m loving this I’m just being annoying at this point)

Leave it to me to be annoyed in the first 10 pages of a book because the setting feels “unoriginal” and “overdone” and then, two pages later, be LIVID that the setting has changed (for one that, mind you, is original/new to me) but left me on a cliffhanger with the first setting.

The book is falling apart as I read it, which is a fun time. But tis the season for a re-read!

Something I’m admittedly struggling with for this book is two-fold:

1) I don’t remember as much from books 1 and 2 as I’d like

2) the perspectives change too often and (imo) at the detriment of the plot progression

Definitely should have waited until the whole series was out to read it. But the story is still gripping and easy (enough) to follow.

It’s interesting how much the story has pulled away from our main trio (quad?), but still feels interesting and fleshed out across the board.

Okay you can’t claim that a trial is life altering and then have both people walk out acting completely normal

I’ve accepted the fact that I’ll be re-reading this immediately after finishing, mostly to annotate because who knows when book 2 will be out and my memory is terrible, but it matters to me that I remember this story.

This book is INSANE. I’m having such a good time.

I’m taking my sweet, SWEET time with this but mainly because it’s delectable. No notes!!

I can’t remember the last time I hated someone in a book as much as I hate one of these characters.

This is fantastic so far, I understand the hype

Shhhh no one tell The Night Circus

Based on the book description + reviews I get the sense that I (eventually) root for the romance to happen in this book, but so far I feel literally no interest in these characters as a duo… also Marco is being kind of a jerk so why would I want him to be with Celia?
