For a book that prides itself on its diversity, it completely fails to recognize that Latin culture is an umbrella term that refers to a wide variety of traditions, countries and backgrounds.

Instead, it chooses to present Latinos as one homogeneous community where the people are basically the same everywhere no matter were they came from.

Also, at least 90% of the cultural references is just Mexican culture.

Taylor Jenkins Reid is at her best when writing about a single main character, no an ensamble

Turns out John Hammond is the true villain of this story

Spensa, the protagonist, is one of those characters that is so entertaining to see fail, and I don't know if that's the point of the book or not.

None of these characters feel like real people, they are like aliens trying and failing to act like humans.

This book is 80% plot holes, 10% the fact that Bree is a war horse, and 10% the phrase "Narnia and the North are waiting for us". It's quite terrible

Well, this book is a lot worse than I remembered
