This book had been on my Amazon wish list for a long time. I wasn’t sure that I wanted to read it. Today I can say that I’m so thankful that I purchased and read this book, it’s outstanding! I’m a lover of fact based fiction but not a fan of romance novels. But in all honesty I couldn’t put this book down. I’ll be looking for more of this writer’s work.

Reading this book provides the privilege of entering the childhood of someone from a culture other than my own. Within this book I also learned the history, struggles and beauty of the Liberian people. Well written. Well worth the read.

Ms. Abrams is a masterful writer. This book is evidence of her skills. I became so invested in this book that I turned my tv off for several days and told anyone who would listen that they needed to read it. As you can tell I highly recommend this book.

I was interested in this book because I’m in the process of writing my own book. I found this book to be very helpful.

I enjoyed reading this book of personal experiences of many different writers.

I chose this book because I needed a break. I needed a break from work, from the news, from Covid and other things that I have no control over. When I opened this book I had no idea that Britt-Marie needed the same thing. Thanks to Fredrick Backman I found what I needed.

I think it no coincidence that as I come to the end of reading this book the writers' final chapter written in 2011 ends where our journey continues
This is a powerful book that all who seek to understand will want to read.

Today I am thankful for the people across races who have joined our march determined to help not destroy.

It’s inevitable. Anyone who has been there has brought back some of humanity’s madness.
