Not into this one so much. The middle of the book is an akward battling. I find myself skimming and skipping. Maybe this will be my first Discworld DNF.

Wonderful read! The narrative, plot, arch and conclusion are engaging all the way through. I do not know if I have read a book with so little action yet so engaging. I cannot wait to read the next volume in this series. Highly recommend!

This is one of those books that are sparsely written and one that we are drawn back to again and again. I’m reading it through this first time but I already know I will have to come back to again a few times to really mine all the gold.

Kevin Orth is finished with Does the Bible Condemn Gay People?: A Close Look at What Scripture Says About Homosexuality (Questions of Sexuality Book 1)
Simple, concise, to the point, and unbiased. Essentially, the writers of the books of the Bible had no consciousness of sexual orientation to have a perspective on. What is horrid is the sloppy, poor, and biased translation of Greek and perhaps ignorance of temple prostitution and rape as a form of warfare. There was no 'gay lifestyle' to condemn period.

Among the books in this series, this is my favorite so far. The plot, storyline, and writing kept me engaged and yearning to know more, read along to see how things unfold. At no point in the narration could i have predicted or retold what would happen next.

There are many formulaic opportunities the author could have, but did not, take. There are situations where the reader can say ‘oh yeah, I know what’s coming next...’ and then the author doesn’t deliver on the cliche. I’m glad there are four books in this series and I’m all the more engaged the further i get!

Wow! The author walks the extremely fine line between fiction and mysticism. Lots of authors try but veer off track usually way into the weeds of fiction and loose the mystic connection. Mr. Sniegoski is masterful in staying on track and in line with the balance needed. I cannot wait to read more of this series!

I sincerely liked the writing and the plot. The characters are well developed and fully dimensional. Could not finish the book. The title character Bear equivocates so much for no good or apparent reason and everyone around him is fine with his lack of decision making. I got tired and bored with him to the point I didn’t care what happened to his character because he would never come to any conclusions ever.

I want to like this book. I want to like the character Bear. I love all the other character - but Bear. He is so stuck in equivocating for no particular reason and everyone puts up with his equivocation for no good reason. I hope he gets around to redeem himself because at this point i want to tell him to just go with it and stop wringing your hands for reason.

For a number of years i have had the Foundation for Inner Peace version of ACIM. I also made several tepid attempts to read/study but came up short. It was not until I learned of the CE Edition that the light when on and I new this is the version I need to study. Everyone has their own path and for thousands the FfIP edition works. My path very precisely took me to this version and my life is forever transformed.

Kevin Orth is 50% done with What's the Matter With Kansas?: How Conservatives Won the Heart of America
It is sad how greed has taken center stage. The Republican Party has been taken over by robber barons who care about no one and no thing but their growing bank account and spin empty rhetoric to get economically marginalized people to vote against their own best interests in the name of taking back power the never see because billionaires blame progressives for marginalized peoples continued decline.

I ranted this high because it is well written and researched. I also feel the need to add a qualifier - if you have not read Disappearance of the Universe, it may not be particularly clear or informative.
