ok I can't quote directly because I'm reading from an ARC but I really, really like the point the author just made - when law enforcement commits violent acts against people in custody, it's not a fluke in the system: it is the system. He describes it as the "end result" of an American process of normalizing medical neglect, because the state has convinced us it's not responsible for our health. really good stuff!!

gotta agree with the review that says you'll either love or hate this, and tbh, i love it so far. it's been a while since i've read an absurd satire like this, where it's 99% absurd and that last 1% sneaks up on you and hits you over the head with sincerity. that's a really hard thing to pull off and so far it's done really well. plus not knowing anything about kpop makes this even funnier for me personally
