Between the World and Me wastes no time in jumping right into the issues of racism and white supremacy in America. Written in the form of letters to his teenaged son, Coates' language and metaphors throughout what I've read so far are striking and powerful. Although "excited" isn't the right word, I'm intrigued to finish this book and apply Coates' story to my own life as a white, privileged woman.
