Very readable. Can’t imagine having to risk your life via the Khyber pass to have highlights done!!! But that was a reality in Afghanistan at one stage!!!

Brilliant. Brings together so much I’ve seen, read, been told by guides etc etc in museums and ancient sites around Greece and The Aegean.

Only a few pages read but this is a “MUST” read for anyone who lives &/or loves Greece. I’ve been fortunate to not only come to live on a Greek Island for the last 12.5 years but spent many holidays exploring all over Greece & I’m fortunately familiar with many (not all) the locations mentioned, described & explained. Not only is it a country of beautiful landscape & climate but of civilisation itself.

Only read the first few chapters… already in tears ..: such cruelty … and Putin wants to relive all this ffs 🤦🏽‍♀️

Omg … Winston Grahams detail of the battle of Waterloo is so much more detailed and seems to be researched in far more detail than “Sharpes Waterloo” which I’ve also read (after I’d seen the TV depiction) but doesn’t go into as much detail as “The Twisted sword” and I’m in tears …. 😭

So loving this historical novel … page turner and tear jerker
