chapter 2–“object”:

[really wish someone could invent a way to ctrl+f physical books. index rlly carrying me rn]

ok i’m gonna start summarizing the salient points for myself so i can keep track of the arguments. look away if u don’t want spoilers.

introduction—“human”:
- reading “besides the human”: moving away from scale of individual human subject into nonhuman (vis a vis “inhuman”) scales, esp the smaller/molecular, which reveals heterogeneity and allows for new possibilities.

the writing is kinda annoying me (why did i need to know every movement from her getting out of bed to walking into her kitchen???) but i’m only a few chapters in so i shall persist

so excited to finally get to start thisss

the only thing motivating me to finish this book is that it’s like 2 months overdue at the library

another book by a white woman, let’s see how this goes! rlly enjoyed the 1st chap but i just went online and read sooo much discourse about this and am learning about “dimes square” for the first time?? these ppl seem crazy and also this one vulture article is so funny lmaoo “‘Forever,’ the self-proclaimed “offensive” magazine [Cash] co-edits…whose contributor list seems allergic to melanin”

my most anticipated debut of the last 2+ years lol. been waiting for this since before it got its book deal.

need to stop starting books i can’t buy

prof told me 3 years ago that he didn’t believe i would finish this 685 page book, so i am now determined to finish this 685 page book.

pls i started reading this in porter square books and then when the store closed i moved to harvard books to keep reading it because it was so compelling but i didn’t want to spend money on this white woman when i’m still on my book-buying ban. but i need a beat up paperback copy STAT so i can finish it.

i will clear this off my current reads docket if it’s the last thing i do
