Dark. Dreary. Depressing. The only decent character is a cat that dies a violent death early in the book.
I like the world building and how history and mythology are weaved into the tale, but I won't read another book by this guy.

Asta is starting Shadows of the Short Days (Hrimland Saga #1)

I love this fantasy that takes place in Reykjavík. The author uses elements from mythology and fairy tales, and almost all of the words I have come across are real Icelandic words. Fun, fast paced and competent world-building make this a great story to read.
