Did Clarisse leave Percy and Annabeth? Was she the one who carelessly used Hermes' thermos? Coz she's nowhere to be found in ch 12!

Hmmmm.. Now I find Hermes suspicious for giving Percy some gifts and helping him on his quest. Is this going to be a case of "like son, like father"?

How did Matt Sloan (and the other kids) see the guys turn into monsters? I thought the Mist covers the true appearance of anything "unusual". Am I missing something here?

Being a demi-god can be traumatic for a child. Assuming she is hated by his own family, the child runs away, as in Annabeth's case. Others are left by their immortal parent (for safety reasons) or abandoned by their mortal parents so they'd end up homeless. Ugh. Add to that, they have learning disabilities or weird-looking features which make them feel like freaks in a mortal society.

Too many mishaps but Percy manages to turn things around. He could analyze and strategize at the same time under pressure. Is he too smart for his age? Is this how a demi-god thinks? But, how come Procrustes was easily tricked by Percy, when Crusty is also a son of Poseidon?

seems off when Percy or Grover says "yuck" (or mega-yuck)

So far some parts are way too predictable for me. But I think it'll get exciting from here. #justkeepreading
