I feel dumb because I realized I don’t know that many words lol but I do like the story so far.

So far, very boring…

Part 1 was hard to get through; the author has an extensive and dense vocabulary (I had to look up a bunch of words). I do like that it gave Joe’s story of how he immigrated from Prague to New York. Part 2 is starting to get into the main plot, but still incredibly dense.

All I can say is.. Camila is strong because I wouldn’t be with Billy. I know he’s trying, BUT you can bite into the tension between him and Daisy like a cake.

Fuck Billy.

Interesting writing style.

How incredibly painful and complex their situation is. I still think Helena is annoying though… she is incredibly stubborn and tries to solve everything. I feel for Kaine when he said “you put us in hell for two years”. I completely agree with him. I know it was for love and protecting him, but idk.. their whole situation is fucked up. I’m also struggling with the 🍇

Idk why this book is taking me so long. It’s good, but it’s so tragic. There are so many layers, complex alchemical systems, and war. It’s like, when does it ever get better for them? Meanwhile, knowing what happened in part one like… what? How?! 😭

I love Jacob; he means well and cares for Alana and Sara’s family. I know Sara is guarded, and I feel for her. It’s a crazy how complicated their relationship is and it’s neither of their fault 😭

Not what I expected, there’s a lot of layers to this, but it’s interesting to see the 2 different perspectives and how the relationship is developing. Incredibly complex.

I’m sorry… I think Helena is annoying sometimes 😭 her devotion to The Eternal Flame and the Holdfasts is frustrating. Like, seriously, fuck them. Lol. They don’t even like her and treat her like poop.

Chapter 33 is my favorite chapter so far 😭 so simple, yet sweet.

Okay, what?! Idk how I feel right now… like, they did it, but I’m conflicted by Helena’s “I completed my mission” mentality and Kaine willing to keep suffering. 😭💔

I lost my momentum in reading this book, but I finally made it to 50%.
The ending of part 1 was so sad, but I like part 2 and being able to see the relationship build. Just slowly making my way through it.

Very slow paced.

Idk why Helena’s love for Luc bothers me.. like I know they were friends and his family helped her, buuut it sounds like she was in love with him and I don’t like it. Lol. Part one was tragic, but I’m glad to get the background on how that came to be.

Okay, I knew something was up and there were signs, but damn 😭 still caught me off guard!

This is slow paced, but I can slowly feel things unraveling. I feel like it’s all going to explode at the very end lol
