I am loving these stories! Taking my time reading them because I don't want to be finished, and reading other novels in between.

This started off slow. I almost quit it but decided to hang in a little longer. It finally started getting interesting about 80 pages in. We'll see if that continues...

I am obsessed with this story. I find myself thinking about it when I'm at work, when I'm trying to sleep or focus on other things. I wish I had a time machine so I could go back to 1948 and kick some La Salle a**! I am horrified, but I can handle it because the narrators are sympathetic, oooohhh, but I wish we could change the past! This book is gonna be a tough act to follow.

Loving this book, I want to read it a little slower to savor. #Spreadthelie

I just read "The Irony of Hate" by Ruth Rendell and it had everything that I love in a short story. Lots of surprises all the way to the end and none of this short story just fizzling out junk that I've seen in a lot of modern shorts.

Really enjoying this book!

I am really enjoying this story. I'm glad that most of it is about Carin, I enjoy seeing how she lives up to the challenges of being in a 376 pound body. I think Leann's character is a bit too exaggerated. I get that she's uneducated, but anyone with more than a 5th grade education could at least speak better than she does. The overuse of her slang is distracting, but the book has really sucked me in!

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. The concept of a very-serious situation as seen through the eyes of a child remind me of To Kill A Mockingbird. I have a feeling this is going to be a good one!

What a train wreck Celeste is, but I can't look away! I can't wait to see if she gets caught. Dark and disturbing, but I like my books to shock me. It would be awfully boring to read about ordinary people doing ordinary things. And the character Janet and Celeste's observations on her crack me up. I've met a lot of Janet's in my life!

I am really enjoying this book! This is the first I've read of Wendy Corsi Staub, but I'm glad to see she has over 70 more, because I want to read more of her work.

I'm hooked! I can't wait to see what happens next. I want to devour the rest of this book in one sitting, but I won't because I also want to make it last.

This book is really good, I wish I had more reading time.

I have this in my bag for when I have a few minutes to read at work. The essays are fun, and only a couple of pages each. This isn't a book that keeps me up all night, but it's a great, slim volume to carry around for when you have 5 or 10 minutes to read every now and then.

I read the first 3 stories so far and liked the first 2 a lot. The title story had me really intrigued at first, why would a grown woman have disdain for little girls but like little boys so much? But this story went to far for me. I could not relate to Akiko in any way (thank God for that!) what a horrible, detestable character with no redeeming qualities at all! It was a train wreck that I kept reading...

This book is slow going for me. I thought I'd really like it, but I don't seem to so far. I'm not quite ready to give up on it since I paid full price for my copy though, LOL! Hopefully I'll find a story in there that I like before I'm done with it.
