I always liked Patience

As easy as it is for us to dwell on the storms we're currently facing, we instead need to keep our eyes on HIM, to trust HIM, to imitate HIM. We need to rest in His love and trust that if He's sleeping in the boat, it is because He knows that all will be well. He can see beyond the storm, even if we can't.

Reading the beautiful illustrated edition this time.

Wait a minute! I'm starting to have an AI suspicion!

Thoughts on this so far: some serious cliches, the author likes to use tons of adverbs, ridiculous inner musings. The plot's interesting, though, and Antarctica has always been fascinating to me, so I'm sticking with it for a bit.

Had I a dollar for every time I see "quietly" in this book I could retire. I feel a DNF coming on if it doesn't stop.

Date began reading: 1/17. Updated today 1/23: on page 2. Page 2! That's embarrassing.

I really hope this is better than the last one. Fingers crossed!

You see more and more signs that say “Season’s Greetings.” Well, what does that mean? Are we celebrating winter? I mean, that’s the season, is it not? This is the winter season. When you say, “Season’s greetings,” what do you say — “Happy winter to you”? Who wants to say “Happy winter”? Winter’s never happy. It’s freezing! It’s the world saying, “So much for you. Season’s greetings!”
