Again, I wish she connected all of this to our hatred of female agency. Women who achieve fame through talent need to be “taken down a peg,” reminded of their classification as sex objects. Those who attempt to capitalize on their sex are seen as crass, slutty; they’re fair game for all kinds of humiliation. In both cases the goal is to take away the woman’s power to determine how she is perceived.

Aaaaa there’s something really interesting in here about why society punishes women for being visible but she keeps dancing around it!
