I haven't read this since undergrad but the essay I wrote on it then got me in to grad school so I must have found something academically interesting in it at least. I picked it for my spooky October read and so far it's been a pretty enjoyable experience.

This Side of Paradise was one of the books I read before I began attending college because I figured it was time I read some classics. At this point I'm kind of surprised past me finished this book and ever read any other Fitzgerald. But I'm plowing on, hoping things will get better.

So far the biggest takeaway I’ve gotten is that Wilson was not physically well both before and after he was elected. It’s probably not surprising that he would wind up having a debilitating stroke in office. Also, elections in the party boss era were wild.

Little over halfway there. Lots of interesting ideas in here but it's been slow getting through it.
