This book is so riveting, so compelling, I find excuse to keep driving so I can continue to listen. As the daughter-in-law of a US Coast Guard Captain, this story gives me more insight into my father-in-law. The faithfulness to their mission to save those who need saving is a testament to the courage and integrity of the Coast Guard members off Cape Cod and New England in late February, 1952

I knew little of the War in the Pacific. A few names, like Nimitz and The Enterprise were familiar. Toll brings the Solomon Islands and the Coral sea to life; vividly and frighteningly.

Could see where I thought it was going and didn't want to go there. Will try again.

Already loving this book. I'm swept away to Cesseria and Masada in the first few pages. I can see the red sand of the Jordan Valley, heat rippling off the land. And feel the Mediterranean breeze as I stand in the hippodrome. I love Cantrell's other books and so far this collaboration with James Rollins is working for mw
