Thoroughly enjoying this brilliant translation of Ovid at his wittiest and most irreverent. There just might be more truth to his observations than we care to admit...

Long delayed update: Edgar Allan Poe, one of the greatest American authors, able to conjure mysterious, disturbing imagery and feelings unlike anyone before or after (with the possible exception of Lovecraft).

I really enjoy Lucretius' genial and oftentimes humorous presentation of classical philosophy, on topics like composition of matter, the nature of life and the senses, theology, etc. It's basically like a poetic friend explaining the works of Aristotle

The Works of Archimedes... quite a task, but worth it for a glimpse into one of history's greatest minds. Nicomachus seems a fitting end to this volume

Emerson's difficult transcendentalist musings, brilliant observations amidst indecipherable ramblings. Hawthorne's delightfully ambiguous romances, the obvious becomes less so as the tales unfold and end in doubt - perhaps my favorite author to this point.

Finished the Elements, moving on to Archimedes

Almost finished with Euclid's Elements Book XII and the end is in sight! :) Really enjoying the geometric theorems (mostly books I-IV and XI-XIII), not so much the awkward number-theoretic ones. Good practice with math and logical thinking
