Strange feeling to be reading this during the USA's current Upheaval.
Strange because -- if you can get beyond the muddled and awkward metaphor of personal crisis for national upheaval to a half-buried truth -- Diamond actually predicted this.

re-reading before starting The Testaments

Started because it's included in "the Complete Works of KM"

2nd time around, reading each narrative in sequence ... quite a different experience.

Reading this exactly 100 years after his epic voyage ..

Somewhere near the end; but every chapter begins at page 1 so it's hard to tell!

I think I'm going to start adding kids' books to GR. Why not? I read way more of them than I do from my "to-read" list!

First read about 15 years ago, but I just saw the film (which was excellent) and want to compare. I don't remember being overwhelmed by the book.
