So far, I am enjoying the writing and the slow-burn. I want to learn the mystery of the house, but I have a suspicion of what the secret is in my mind.

Still sinking. Still loving it.

I am absolutely charmed. I feel myself sinking into this story and I love it. This has the feel of a five star alreqdy and I am so hopeful.

I just read the first 5 chapters. Holy moly have I been missing out! I remember trying to read Grapes of Wrath in 9th grade and thinking it was the most boring thing I had ever encountered. I ended up, as an adult, living in Monterey Bay and still avoiding Steinbeck after that. Now that I have started East of Eden, I realize I was just too young. John has incredible writing chops! I’m loving this book already!

Cauliflower and rice was better and Charles loved it, but it strangely tasted bland to me and was a bit carb heavy.
