I picked this up as part of a special offer and am glad I did. This is well written and paced, the character's are believable and the story zips along. Highly recommended.

A great history that tells the story of the end of The Cold War. Well written and researched, it moves with pace and covers events across the world. We see how little control Gorbachev had on events. From the beginning of Perestroika the USSR had no way to stop events. Who would have thought that within 2 years the Iron Curtain would disintegrate so quickly?

A great book about the world of bind trading in the 1980's.very well written and a fantastic story of its time.

An ok story that tries to be a love story and a thriller but never achieves either. The end is, because of historical necessity, an anti-climax.

This is another good, well paced thriller. A little obvious but very enjoyable.

Not as impressed as I would have hoped. Where was the coverage of Nero, Vespasian etc.? It doesn't really cover the period up to 212AD, as it claims. Some good detail about different aspects of Roman life but it leaves more questions than answers.

Not a bad story but overlong. An old fashioned boys own adventure. Needs work on historical accuracy, some mentioned facts were wrong - Britain was not ruled by v a Queen during WW2 - just one of them. Some of the plot twists where shoe horned into place.

This is a very hard read, not because of the subject but the harrowing story. I have to read other books at the same time to ease the pain. Yet is a great work of historical research and necessity.
