Not a good start - a flight to a sanctuary viewed from young Elizabeth's perspective. Can someone explain to me how a 4 year old is supposed to process and understand everything that is going on around her? She is not the narrator, but her thoughts are presented, her mother speaks to her as if she was 14 not 4. It's annoying that the author thought this was going to be realistic. But hey, let's give it a try...

I haven't finished reading it yet, but I really struggle and I'm seriously thinking that I'll have to abandon it. The novel is shallow, the characters lack any depth, the unearned bad treatment of the main character is too irritating to stomach. This is too dry!
