The writing has been so great that I can ignore a similie such as 'Standing there like she was gaping at Godzilla', even if I would mind it if it were a different kind of book.

I love how pinguid crows are compared to nuns, rather than the other way around.

* I am digging the word-play in this book
* The worldbuilding is one of my favourite things, alongside the use of language.
* I think I am forever undecided about NC using some of his characters for comic value and so on, but I had also begun to appreciate that in spite of her cartoonishness, Euchrid does have valid reasons to resent Ma, and she is given motives for her flaws, which I know is less common nowadays.

Got to my favourite part, chapter III, 'Ah never cried as a baby' etc.

Almost forgot to mention the part where Vanessa called events in her own life 'plot points'. Ugh.

Getting sleepy, which isn't good because I can't concentrate. Also, there was so many repetitions just at the beginning of the chapter.

I am really feeling this is eating up my time, I knew I would dislike this book before I even picked it up. I still have better things to do, it feels like this would be a good time to take a break.
