Finished and reviewing on 18th April 2011 here and in other places

Morlock the Maker and his sidekick Wyrth arrive on a strange landscape and into a stranger road house, the Travellers' Rest. From the outset a sense of mystery takes hold of the reader...the road house is sinister...shady,dangerous. Then the challenge arrives in the form of Iagiawon who challenges Morlock and is slayed by him, thus leading to the mountain cave of the Lifemaker Kyrkylio and a disturbing secret.

The care chase and traffic scene were riveting...I could hear the traffic, smell the fumes, see the sweat,feel the fear when Mean-Man smiled.

This story touches so many emotions.

This book starts as only the best books do...tension...clear, sharp description...action in the head and in the world...immediate identification with the character...I am going to devour this one.

All the action is in one small building so far and is gripping.

Reading in preparation for the film later in the month
