Anecdotes of living among the Cherokee and leading up to the Trail of Tears were facinating as were brief scenes of the Civil War battlefield and Chicamauga and hardship endured a home. I love reading first hand accounts but this book was mostly name dropping of the Methodist ministers he was acquainted with in his 73 years as a circuit methodist minister. All in all a charming book.

delightful read of course leaving you with lots of question about how to find your true purpose in life. I read it because the author became friends with Jane Goodall. Now I know why Jane liked this book so much, it mirrors her message of the interconnectedness of the world, that we all have a part to play and as she did we should all discover are gifts and not be afraid to persue them.
