So far it's an interesting look in to the globe trotter set of the 30s. I can't wait for her to actually see the panda.

I can't believe, with as much as I loved Pillars, it took me so long to start reading this trilogy. Love it so far!

SPOILER ALERT Blah. I had such high hopes for this book, but then she ruined it with the sickly seduction of the younger Hugh. Its not the homosexuality that made it gross; it was her horrible portrayal of their first encounter. She writes about gay men like they're women. Lady, talk to a gay guy before you write gay love scenes.

Still undecided. The history is flawless, but the filler is... reaching a little, I think.

I'm trying to resist the urge to Google the history. Don't want a spoiler!

I tried reading this. I really did. It's the worst writing you can imagine... And he's the most pathetic "dom" that's probably ever existed. And SHE is an idiot. Just... no. Don't bother with it.

Holy CHEESE BALLS this is good stuff! If you like the tv show, you'll LOVE the book!

I love these books, but I'm just not feeling them right now.

Still moving slowly through it, but even though it's taking me forever, I love it. Every day I read something that makes me explore 18 websites about something scientific I never knew before. My new fascination: bacteria. "The world belongs to the small."

Ok. Now I'm terrified of meteroids. Grrrreat.

Seriously, I only understood about 1 out of every 8 words in the physics section. Thank goodness he's moved on to geology now! LOL

As much as he's trying to "dumb down" the explanation of the universe, I'm still struggling. I love it though!

Just read the intro and love it!

Going to have to but this on the "abandoned" shelf for awhile. It's a biography of a young man told through the movie that was important to him at that moment in his life, or the movie he's seen that most relates to that moment. Some chapters, like the one on E.T, are better than others.

Mildly entertaining so far. Not what I expected, but not horrible.

Slow moving, but I'll keep plugging away. Not ready to give it up yet.

This should be required reading in American colleges.
