Three chapters to go. Two weeks until my first marathon. I started this book more than 14 weeks ago 😉

If you didn’t really want me to go to the Galapagos by myself, why did you say it?

I can’t help but wonder what else you’ve said that you didn’t really mean.

There are two ways of looking at walls. Either they are built to keep people you fear out or they are built to keep people you love in.

There is a profound difference between knowing your situation is temporary and not knowing what’s coming next.

It’s all about control, or at least the illusion of it.

People think of a beehive as a monarchy because there is a queen, but in reality, a colony has a hive mind - knowledge is shared, opinions are offered, decisions are made collectively.

…he was unhappy as any guy I’d ver met, even in high school. Misery came off him like a smell.

The person who can be truly alone, in the company of no one but oneself and one’s own thoughts - that person was stronger than anyone else. More ready. More prepared.

Starting chapter 6 - Putting Profit First into Motion. Tomorrow I have my zoom call to get this started.

Just shy of 1/2 way and I'm really enjoying it. Occasionally, I'm having to ask my husband some of the WP chain of command questions to try to keep people straight. I want to keep reading...the book bounces around primarily from a current mission and roughly 25 yrs earlier. I'm wanting to know what's going to happen next within both of the story lines.

Rachel and I just started this THICK big which is the children's book for the TSCPL "big read."

Page turner for sure.
