Why are there SO MANY veryyyy detailed descriptions of his past hookups with om?!

“I’d had a hook up a few years back with the Razor’s goalie… He was an incomplete paraplegic with a decent amount of b*tthole sensitivity, and he loved it when I’d hold him up and rail him.”

AND HE GIVES MORE DETAILS AFTERWARDS! This just after hearing about his past hookup three doors down from the other mmc’s airbnb.

This is mostly just frustrating me which is so not the vibe for today.

DNF 25% - couldn't recover after the vibrator debacle. Not particularly interesting and zero chemistry between any of the characters... at a certain point it's just words on a page.

Her 14 year old son just brought up the fact that she has no sex life other than the vibrator in her draw……….. WHY WHY WHY

I don’t like Gabriel at all. He’s too busy judging Liam from the top of his moral high ground to actually appreciate how great he is. He’s using him for the same skills he condemns him for… talk about a hypocrite. The romance is lacking because of Gabriel’s inability to see past his own moral superiority.

This is a duology, which I didn’t realise. Might come back when it’s finished.

DNF - stopped and never wanted to come back, just a bit boring honestly

On pause because the characters are doing my head in and constantly playing right into the hands of the villains (even when it’s SOO obviously a trap) and the romance isn’t enough for me to push through right now.

I’m not sure I can do this… I don’t enjoy when the h/H are actively dating/seeing/courting another person and since this is a second chance, I’m even less thrilled about it.

On pause because Bella is insufferable and Charlie deserves better.

Possible DNF - pausing for now. Just not feeling it, nothing wrong with the book really.

I’m so confused as to why this author can’t think of a word other than “lover” or “ex-lover” to describe literally any romantic partner past or present for their main characters. Never in my life would I use that word. Also, why are the heroines so genuinely annoying? The hero’s are the best but damn, the heroines are insufferable. And their ex’s are constantly thrown in the faces of the heroes.

The nearly constant mentions of his sex life before her, even in the middle of the act, are making this almost insufferable.
