I’m told Entertaining Ourselves to Death is the better Neil Postman book. This one explains how the tv news is more entertaining than informative and effects our emotions in support of ratings and advertising sales. The tv news provokes outrage too often and shows us violence and disasters to make us pay attention. It also gets us to have empathy for people we haven’t connected with in our daily lives.
