We're not off to a good start, Frank.

So far, the second half of the book feels like a big improvement compared to the first.

It's getting better, but I've figured out why I'm not connecting with the characters besides Sheeana. They all feel like the same person. Same level of cunning, same deception, same morally grey people, almost no personality. While Herbert excelled at memorable characters in the last four books, these characters struggle to feel memorable or even different from each other. I hope my mind is changed by the end.

Not off to a good start. I don't care about any of the new characters yet, and it is incredibly boring so far.
