I liked this, in spite of the many characters and dragging a little in the middle. Centers around “Where did Evie come from?”, a child who is mysteriously brought to a young woman with a daughter of her own. You follow the journey of 2 women through 2 time periods- one in 1933 and one in 1971.

Halfway thru it and all I can think is what the heck am I reading here? Started skimming after the first 3 chapters. Seems to be the case in every book I pick up lately.

On chapter 3. So far, very dull. Hope it picks up soon!

One thing I’m learning from this book..I am not interested in fairy tales. Not at all. Nope. This is probably only the second book that I have no interest in finishing.

On page 119. This is so incredibly dull so far. Have started to skim. Never a good sign!

Not even halfway, but sure hope something gets more interesting here. By page 133, I get it…short string bad, long string good. Hoping character development gets better.

I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. A Little Life was one of the most potent books I’ve ever read, but this new book….I am close to giving it up. It’s ridiculous. Makes no sense. Much too wordy. Not sure if I’ll attempt to go further in it. So disappointed.

So far, this has been the best fiction I’ve read in a long time. The end of every chapter leaves one anticipating the next!

I read half this book then put it away for many months. It is a fascinating book but is tedious reading. A lot of it is too technical for me. I've started reading again, determined to finish it. 7/30/2019

A therapist seeks help from a therapist over being ditched by Boyfriend. I've just started this and all I keep thinking is would I want to pour my heart out to someone who can't deal with their own life? My therapy was my walking. And now I can't walk. This book really makes me value my friends and my sister, who have listened to me for 2 years since my fall.
