Flew through the first two, but struggling with this one and really want to like it. Doesn’t feel like I’m reading anything new. 😭

Rereading after catching up on Lore Olympus. Don’t remember much of the story, but hopefully it’ll be as good as the 4 star rating I gave it the first time. Lol

Completely different from what I expected. I like it, but have a feeling this is going to turn into a Stockholm tale.

One second I think I know what's happening and the next not so much. Strange...

“I’ll see you around,” I said, before turning away. And I would. I was going to chase this chilly, abrasive woman. I’d chase her all the way to her fucking ice palace and melt it down if I had to.” Loved Caleb in book 1. Love him still.

“I was a relationship retard. I kicked, shoved, and punched people out of my life, so they never had a chance to hurt me.”

I really like Helena, but the deeper in I get, the stupider she becomes. Why do you do this to heroines? Why? Ugh.

Confused... Onward.

Quotable prologues make me hopeful. “Some people don't like a murder for breakfast. It's just not their thing.”

"I kiss him before he can finish. Properly. Like I mean it. He kisses me back like he means it too. Like it's been four hundred years. And then I'm not thinking anymore and I'm just lost in the kissing." Yeeees.

Hm. I like this so far, but the random Spanish thrown in here and there is awkward. It's not even Spanglish. Just like, "mi familia, mi padre, mi madre". Odd.

"we have finally managed to embrace our own smelly and lopsided vaginas." O_o It sounds like she just fessed up to a stinky vag. Smelly and vagina do not mix.

It's a shame really, Mark does more for me than Chris.

I really like this so far, but... There's always a but isn't there? BUT, I'm not impressed by the electric charge, the "air crackling", the "tension between us" anytime Chris says or does anything. It's overload.

"I am goddess, see me poke." Laugh out loud funny.

The more I read the more shocked I am that this is a breakout novel. It's so beautifully written.

"I love how you smell." This line gave me a whiff of something I didn't quite find pleasant. Otherwise, so far so good.

Nifty, spiffy, ma-freaking-petite, who me... four words or phrases I could do without ever hearing again. Anita sounds like my grandmother and Hamilton has ruined Jean Claude for me with her repetitiveness.

This is the second black character with skin so dark it has purple highlights. Ms. Hamilton, repetitive you are.

Poor Richard.

Must keep in mind what year these books were written. Fanny pack, anyone?

Ugh. She's already sweating. No one sweats more than Anita Blake.

Love this already. Possibly even more than Splintered.
