So far, a book about insufferable white women. I'm intrigued to know the source of their trauma and will keep reading.

Millennial Bibliophile is 7% done with The Deficit Myth: Modern Monetary Theory and the Birth of the People's Economy
Only 7% finished but I can tell this book won't get better. The author belabours her points without actually substantiating them. I'm sure she's a great economist, but she's basically asking us to rethink fiscal policy on her word without proving any of it.

Perhaps her editor convinced her that she should dumb down her book but I think this was a bad decision. We're not idiots! DNF

Technically nothing has happened yet, but I'm intrigued...will something happen? I find that I'm content either way.

Another extremely depressing book. Utterly fascinating but soul crushing when you realise how the world was ruined by a handful of evil people and their propensity for greed and violence.

Schwab is very good at writing morally grey or even straight up unrepentant protagonists

Such a heavy book, but one that needed to be written.

I don't think this author is for me. So much of her writing is trauma after trauma. I'm curious about the characters, but I'm becoming quite depressed reading this book.

I am not opposed to sad books, but this just feels gratuitous. If every single human being were this depressed all the time we would all end ourselves. Even a shadow needs light.

This book just isn't for me. I can admire the craftsmanship, however, I simply did not enjoy reading it. I only cared about Arthur and his story was so depressing. I'm not usually bothered by sadness but something about this book triggered a feeling of deep melancholy. I'm going to quit while I'm ahead.

I'm going to have to put this down. I do not enjoy the sudden switches in POV and it's giving me whiplash, especially since I don't care about some of the characters as much.
