Already the clunky food metaphors and similes are getting tedious. These two are three pages from each other, "I counted to three before moving an inch. One haricot vert. Two haricot verts. Three haricots verts." AND "I'd felt totally alone and unexposed even if we were smack in the middle of Le Bernardin, getting an extra six courses because of her."
And I'm having WTF?s with the characters' motives.
