I didn’t realize this was predominantly a romantasy (ugh). I thought it was more like LOTR, the Wheel of Time, or the Name of the Wind, but it is definitely not. I’ve read the series gets better in book 2, but I’ll see if I can tolerate this whole book first, then see if I want more “junk food” type reading in between other novels.
